A non-government, not-for-profit organisation, FICCI is the voice of India’s business and industry. It serves its members from the Indian private and public corporate sectors and multinational companies, drawing its strength from diverse regional chambers of commerce and industry across states, reaching out to over 2,50,000 companies.
RANJIT BARTHAKUR Chairman – FICCI Northeast Adivisory Council
He is the Founder and Chairman of Globally Managed Services (GMS), an Operational Consulting Incubator which was founded in 2002. He brings over 35 years of varied experience in managing and leading companies in a wide range of industries, including Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Telecommunications, Tourism, Technology, Environment, Ecology, Outsourcing and Healthcare.He is the Chief Architect of the thought process at GMS of developing the theme of Naturenomic – A Differentiated Approach to Capital Formation, and has co-founded several initiatives under this theme – Balipara Tract & Frontier Foundation (BTFF) – promoting agriculture and bio-diversity based community initiatives being one of them.He also took on Chairmanship of Jaipur IPL Team Rajasthan Royals, the inaugural champions of the Indian Premier League. He is also the architect of the Wills Cricket Series, both national and international, in the 80’s and 90’s, one of the early innovators of sponsorships marketing in India.Ranjit has extensive hands-on experience in diverse geographic markets like India, South East Asia, Japan, Russia, Middle East, UK, Europe and USA. In 2001, Ranjit stepped into public service when Assam Government appointed him as Advisor for strategy, action planning, project formulation, investment initiation and image building exercise for the state of Assam, he continues to perform the role after being reappointed in 2011. In addition to this, he is supporting Mr. S. Ramadorai, Advisor to the Office of Prime Minister of India on National Skill Development. He is also the member of the Planning Commission’s Steering Committee on Eco-Tourism.

Dr. Palin Khundongbam, an entrepreneur and pathfinder , Chairman cum Managing Director of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute Pvt Ltd (SHRI) is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, who has envisioned in SHRI To be a premium & leading brand in healthcare services in the South East Asia, recognized by their customers for their holistic approach, personal touch and technological advancement .Under his leadership, SHRI has been working for the past two decades providing world class quality healthcare aspiring to be a healthcare hub of South East Asia and he believes in maintaining goodwill with the neighboring states and countries to enhance the reliability of making Manipur the healthcare destination.He joined as the Co Chairman of FICCI NEAC in 2015. FICCI has set up an office in Guwahati to catalyse growth in the region. The North East Advisory Council which leads our activities in the region is comprised of some of the leading businessmen, academicians and professionals from the NE.FICCI Northeast Advisory Council

Apart from this the council is working on a comprehensive vision to position the NE as a bridge between ASEAN and India. The council has also taken up a number of issues affecting local industry and recommended steps for strengthening the North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy.
